I've not used them personally but that seems like a lot for a tensioner...I guess they are the same as other 3.0 engines?

This looks similar: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ALFA-ROMEO-15 ... SwcBhWVd0s

Used this guy several times and he's very helpful.

Hi Simon

How did you get on with the tensioner?

My SZ passed it's annual road test last week but the tester commented on the oil leak from the belt area, which I guess must be from the tensioner!

I know they are impossible to obtain but I recall mention of a rebuild kit. I know one person who rebuilt their tensioner but without success so I'm not sure what to do.

Also read that lack of use doesn't help the hydraulic tensioner so I might be better converting to the spring type.

The link I posted doesn't show the extra bits needed for the full conversion - this is what's needed, better price than the first link too:

A Little cheaper, but will need a timing belt adding to the cost:

Hi Wrinx
I haven't got round to doing my tensioners yet. I will get it sorted this year I hope. I have found a local expert and will speak to them some time soon. I will let you know what happens.

That'd be great, thanks.

Think I'm going to go with the rebuild kit to keep the hydraulic tensioner because it's supposed to be the best solution, despite needing to be rebuild every few years.
